Christopher Monteith of Ivie League Preschool.

Ivie League Preschool was established in May 1999 and is located along the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project Corridor. The business provides child care and play activities for infants, toddlers and children up to five years of age. The preschool has a long history and a strong commitment to providing services to children in the Crenshaw community.

Ivie League Preschool is a family run non-profit corporation. While Mercedes Hornsby serves as President of the non-profit corporation, day-to-day management of the preschool is provided by her daughters Alisa Ivie and Angela Monteith, and son-in-law Christopher Monteith. The school is licensed to accommodate up to 52 children at full capacity and offers spacious classrooms and an ample outdoor recreational area.

Alisa Ivie states that her family is committed to the long-term success of the school despite the current challenges of construction. She is confident that the school’s revenues will return to pre-construction levels upon the completion of the Metro Crenshaw/LAX rail line.

“Construction has had a major impact on our business and clientele. The BIF grant came at the right time and helped us stay in business and retain our employees,” stated Christopher Monteith, Vice President.

Ivie League Preschool is located at 4827 Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90043. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, please visit ivieleagueschool.com or call (323) 294-5437.
